Research Areas
There are two main themes:
Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (OLEDs)
This theme will mainly focus on the design of new robust luminescent molecular and polymeric materials and their application studies in OLEDs for the launching of more efficient flat-panel displays and solid-state lighting systems. Emphasis will also be placed on the exploration of less expensive or abundant molecular materials that are crucial in reducing the manufacturing cost and in promoting the OLED technology.
Organic Photovoltaic Devices (OPVs)
Organic photovoltaic devices are considered as a new generation of photovoltaic technology that can efficiently harvest sunlight and generate electricity. OPVs have recently attracted much attention in both academia and industry because of their distinct advantages as a low-cost alternative for large area and lightweight applications. To address this challenge, we will focus on the design and development of new materials and device architectures to improve the performance of OPVs.
