New Class of Gold-based Gelators designed by Professor Vivian Wing-Wah YAM has been highlighted in the ChemistryViews
Professor Vivian Wing-Wah YAM and co-workers have developed the first example of alkynylgold(III) complexes containing dianionic N N N pincer ligands. The result has been highlighted in the ChemistryViews. One of the complexes was found to show gelation properties which are potential candidates for applications such as sensors for micro-environmental changes. This class of gold(III) alkynyls may also open up new opportunities for applications in other fields, such as in catalysis. (Chem. Eur. J. 2014, 20, 9930-9939).
