Professor Vivian Wing-Wah YAM is among the three Chinese scientists who have just been elected foreign associates by the US National Academy of Sciences. Professor Yam said she was surprised to have been elected as she had not been aware of the nomination ahead of time. She hopes the honour will encourage students to continue to make efforts in scientific research.
