Professor Chi-Ming CHE's newly developed phosphorescent OLED materials has been highlighted in the ChemistryViews

Professor Chi-Ming CHE was interviewed by Dr. Theresa Kueckmann, Editor-in-Chief for Chemistry - An Asian Journal about his recently accepted article that describes sterically hindered phosphoresecent platinum(II) Schiff base complexes for use in organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs). Multilayer PHOLEDs based on these platinum(II) complexes co-doped with a wide band-gap iridium(III) complex as a deep electron trapper have been prepared and exhibit a long projected lifetime of up to 18,000 hours. This class of platinum(II) complexes may lead to a new breakthrough in the development of practical OLED devices for industrial applications. (Chem. Asian J. 2014, DOI: 10.1002/asia.201402618).
